Hello, I've spoken to you a few times on twitter (I'm @emilyjane_TW) and you seem like a really nice genuine person, and the i found out your a writer, which makes it even better.
I've wanted to be a writer as long as i can remember, and I'm always writing so called "novels" but i never quite get to the end, or if i do i think the story's no good and go back and change things. I was wondering if you could give me and advice about how to write a good story, and stick at it.
Here is a part of the story I am writing at the moment: http://wantobewriter.wordpress.com/2012/06/17/part-of-my-story-headlines/

I have just ordered 2 of your books which are "A Million Angels" and "Glitter". I got my first Kate Maryon book when I went to the Libary and bought it. It is called "Shine". I can't imagine how the Characters felt during the tough time "Mum" was in prison (Shine). It touched me because I have never personally been in care for the weekend and i could feel how it must be hard to leave your Mum and friends to go to a totally different place make totally different friends, live in a totally house and go to a totally different school and be bullyed.

Hello,
I don't know if you reply to these personally but I thought it was worth a shot :)
I just finished reading 'Shine'. I really enjoyed and and fell in love with the story. I recieved it as a free gift in 'Mizz Magazine', and I'm glad I did as I really enjoyed it. However I have found out that there isn't a sequel, yet don't think things were completely wrapped up. The main thing is that you wrote about the pact made between Chelsea and Tiffany, to meet when they were 17, at noon on Valentines day... Did they? And what happened? Will there be a sequel? I was quite tired when I finished the book so have may have missed your mentioning it... did you? Many thanks, and I eagerly await your reply,

Dear Kate,
my name is Zenda Costa and when I was in Cornwall this summer, I bought your book "A sea of stars" to give to one of my students back in Portugal. Now, I seem to have a bit of problem understanding the right definition of the word "zabaloosh bumcake" you wrote on the signed by the author version. I know this is a bit silly, but could you please tell me what it really means, so that I can explain it to my student, before I actually give her the book.
Thank you so much for all the trouble.
Yours sincerely,

I have just started reading one of your books, 'Shine' which I got from a magazine, and I absolutely LOVE it! I have only just started secondary school and I have found it quite tough, but with your books there to read, they have brightened my days up a bit. Do you like art? I do and when I'm older I'd like to be an author who illustrates her own books.

Dear Kate

A pupil in our Yr 6 has suggested that I contact you to arrange a school visit. We are used to having writers in school and the pupils really enjoy sessions with them. We would be interested in having you on a Monday or thursday afternoon from 1.30-5pm. Would you be interested in visiting? We are a mixed prep school- your audience would be around 100. We are in Bromsgrove, a small town just off the M5/M42 in the Midlands.
How much would you charge?
Kind regards

Anyway I have a story idea.(Doesn't matter if you don't use it or read this comment cause I know you must be really busy)

The idea is kinda based on how I sometimes feel:

Sophie is always trying to fit in, even if means burring her own personality and doing everything the way others want. The problem is shes just to nice. But when Sophie and her confident friend Mia fall for the same guy, will Sophie backdown or fight for love?
Hope you liked it,

Hi! Im Megan and I really loved a 'Sea of Stars' about Cat and Maya! I hope you continue to write new books and maybe write sequals to a few of the ones you have now! I hope a sea of stars and a million angels could have a sequal! They were my favourites. I couldn't put any of the books down and I read them all in about one week! I was disapointed when they were over because I had read them all but whilst I was reading them I couldn't stop reading them because they were all so amazing! Thanks for writing them and I hope even more could be written in the future! Also, they had lovely front covers that attracted me to buy them and i'm so glad I did!

Hello,

As promised, some feedback to put on website re visit to St. Christophers.

Kate visited us for an afternoon on World Book Day. For an hour and half the whole class were completely transfixed by her inspiring story from troubled childhood to author and her array of complex and interesting chararcters from her books. The importance and development of character in writing was brought to life in a way that all the children are now far more confident and able to come up with their own three dimensional chararcters.

Kate's message is simple but perfect. Everyone can succeed in their own way, everyone is special and unique, everyone is a character and has a story. Her visit left pupils and staff inspired and uplifted.

Thanks for the visit.

The Invisible Girl by Kate Maryon
This is a heart wrenching story of a girl whose life turns upside down with the arrival of her dad’s new girlfriend. The story line is complicated with a twist around each corner, yet at the same time grasping and easily understandable. This is a book that is hard to put down without finishing! I really want to see another book from a different character’s point of view.

I really enjoyed Invisible Girl. It really makes your emotions explode within you as if you were the characters in the book. Kate Maryon is a no1 author because of the way she describes and puts all the emotions in the book ready to get you! It is the best book I ever read and can’t wait until it’s published and her new books come out.

Hi Kate,
It Lisa here from Waterstones Chiswick. I have a few reviews for your not yet published book Invisible Girl that you and your fans might like to read.
I thought that it was one of the best books I have ever read. I literally couldn’t put it down. It’s one of those books that you have swirling around in your head for ages after you have finished it. I think it will be a great seller when it gets published and could get an award! Overall I would give it 5/5 stars and I will almost certainly read the other books she has written as that was the first one of hers that I have ever read; I think she has a real talent for writing. If you like Jacqueline Wilson then you will definitely like this. The main character’s story is so moving you feel as if you are about to cry!

Hi Kate

I just wanted to let you know how much my 12year old loves your books. I have always struggled to get my daughter Keeleigh to enjoy reading. At the point of giving up i borrowed Shine from our local libary. To my amazament she finished in 2 weeks!!Amazing considering the last book took 7 months!. She was able to tell me the story from start to finish. I was gobsmaked and so thrilled. She has just finised Sea of Stars and all i could hear from her is 'oh mum it's getting really interesting you have got to read this after me'. We are going to Waterstones tomorrow to buy Glitter and Million Angels. Thank you so so much. Cant wait for Invisible Girl. thanks Donna Browne
